We are so proud & excited for Truitt, his teammates & his coaches! The boys took 10th overall at HS state Friday pm - a night filled with personal bests & true racing!!!
I spent hours before the meet waiting at the Nat saving seats without officially saving seats... stressful, but also fun chatting with my swim parent friends. And then it all went by so fast, even the 500 flew by.
Truitt was relaxed, confident & ready, you could see it on deck. I was a little hyper & rolling myself in Stress Away to help manage MY nerves. 😄
💦The 200 medley relay (Truitt best time on his backstroke & some crazy fast swims from his teammates) won their heat & outswam teams from the fastest heat to place 6th & medal!! So exciting!!!💦 Truitt got the race he imagined all season during his 500! He took it out fast! & matched the majority of the race stroke by stroke with his friend and Shark Teammate Jacob who swims for MG. Jacob came off the last turn with a pop & sprinted ahead, winning their heat. Truitt took second, 9th overall with a new best time 4:57.35!💦best time a tiny bit later in the 100 back, 58.08, 14th!💦and a little bit later Truitt swam a 50.82 (close to best!), with the 400 free relay to again break into the top 8 times from the slower heat!!
Way to go Spartans!! Thank you coaches!!!! And thank you volunteer managers!!
